P A E R O A

A bustling little town steeped in history, famous for its events, antiques and hospitality and surrounded by the bush, rivers and beaches of The Coromandel, Paeroa is perfectly located in the middle of everything. Known as the  "Antique Town of New Zealand" Paeroa is the original home of the therapeutic spring water which, mixed with lemon, is what became known today as Lemon & Paeroa (L&P) 'World Famous in New Zealand'.

Throughout the year Paeroa hosts a number of annual events with something to suit almost everyone with the popular motorbike 'Battle of the Streets', Jazz Festival, Highland Tattoo and V8 Motor Show. There is also a Food, Wine and Art Festival, Echo Walking Festival annual antiques weekend and the soulful Sundaise Music Festival held on the banks of the Waitawheta River - just to name a few!

Nearby, the surrounding areas offer a world of activities. A few minutes drive takes you to the beautiful Karangahake Gorge scenic reserve with historical relics from gold mining days, rife with swimming holes, waterfalls,  breathtaking hiking trails and countless picnic spots. Take a 15-minute drive (or ride your bike) to Te Aroha and soak under the mountain in the mineral pools. Or head off for a surf at stunning Waihi beach - only 30 minutes away. All this plus fishing, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, a winery and a cheese factory, are all within a short distance of Bottle Park Lodge!
